WHAT IS A SENSITIVITY TEST?

A sensitivity test is a diagnostic method used to identify how your body reacts to specific substances, such as nutrients, minerals, or environmental factors. It can help pinpoint potential triggers for symptoms like skin irritation, digestive issues, fatigue, or inflammation. Typically, sensitivity testing involves non-invasive procedures like a hair or blood sample to analyze your body’s response and detect imbalances or deficiencies in key nutrients.

Benefits of Sensitivity Testing:

  • Identify Nutrient Deficiencies: Helps uncover imbalances in vitamins and minerals essential for energy, immune support, and skin health.

  • Uncover Hidden Triggers: Pinpoints sensitivities to foods or environmental substances that could be causing issues like bloating, skin problems, or headaches.

  • Improve Digestive Health: Detects issues related to nutrient absorption, supporting healthier digestion and alleviating discomfort.

  • Boost Energy and Clarity: Addressing deficiencies and sensitivities can lead to improved energy levels, mental clarity, and overall vitality.

  • Personalised Wellness Plans: Provides insights for creating tailored nutrition, skincare, or lifestyle plans based on your body’s specific needs.

Overall, sensitivity testing offers a deeper understanding of your body’s responses and helps you make targeted changes for better health.

What can we test?

Our Sensitivity Test covers a comprehensive range of over 1,200 items, designed to offer insights into how your body reacts to different substances and factors that may be impacting your health. Here’s what we can test for:

  • Food Sensitivities: This includes reactions to common and less obvious food items such as grains, dairy, fruits, vegetables, and proteins. It helps pinpoint foods that may cause digestive issues, bloating, or other adverse symptoms.

  • Non-Food Sensitivities: We test for reactions to environmental factors, chemicals, and other non-food items that could be contributing to health issues, including pollutants and household chemicals.

  • Metal Sensitivities: This test can reveal if you have adverse reactions to certain metals like nickel, aluminum, or mercury, which can impact skin, digestion, and overall health.

  • Mineral Analysis: Discover imbalances or deficiencies in key minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and zinc, which are essential for bone health, energy production, and immune function.

  • Vitamin A-K: This covers an analysis of your vitamin levels, ensuring you have adequate amounts of critical vitamins for maintaining healthy skin, vision, immune health, and overall well-being.

  • Additives: We check for sensitivities to common food additives, preservatives, and artificial flavorings that may trigger digestive discomfort or allergic reactions.

  • Gut Health & Digestion: Our test examines factors affecting your gut biome and digestion, helping to uncover issues like food intolerance or poor nutrient absorption.

  • Gut Biome: Analyses the balance of beneficial bacteria in your gut, essential for digestion, immunity, and overall wellness.

  • Hormone Testing: Tests for hormone imbalances that can lead to issues like weight gain, fatigue, or mood swings, providing valuable insights into your endocrine health.

  • Anti-Aging Factors: We assess markers related to aging processes in your body, helping you understand how your body is aging and how to slow it down through lifestyle and dietary adjustments.

  • Stress & Inflammation: Identifies markers of chronic stress and inflammation, which can affect every part of your body, contributing to chronic diseases and conditions.

  • Sleep: This test assesses factors that might be influencing your sleep quality, providing insights into how you can improve rest and recovery.

  • Skin Health: Reveals sensitivities that could be causing skin issues such as eczema, acne, or rashes, and helps you pinpoint the culprits behind persistent skin problems.

  • Nutrition: Provides an in-depth look at your overall nutritional health, helping identify deficiencies and guiding you towards a more balanced, nutrient-rich diet.

Our sensitivity test offers a deep understanding of your body’s unique responses to a wide range of factors, helping you take control of your health by providing detailed insights into how different elements affect your well-being.

HOW IT WORKS

How Our Health & Sensitivity Testing Works at Sweet Tee’s Wellness & Beauty
At Sweet Tee’s Wellness & Beauty, we offer a comprehensive and accurate approach to health and sensitivity testing, helping you gain valuable insights into your body’s well-being. We use blood, urine, and hair analysis to assess how your body responds to various substances, ensuring a complete understanding of your health.

Health Testing – Blood & Urine Analysis
Our health tests provide essential information about key wellness markers, including vitamin levels, hormone balance, and overall organ function. Blood and urine tests offer real-time insights into your body's current state, helping to detect potential deficiencies, imbalances, or underlying health conditions. These tests are quick, reliable, and processed by our trusted partner laboratories, ensuring accuracy in every result.

Sensitivity Testing – Hair Analysis
Our sensitivity test is a non-invasive, long-term assessment that analyses a small hair sample to identify food sensitivities, metal reactions, environmental toxins, and nutrient absorption issues. Unlike blood or urine tests, which reflect short-term results, hair testing provides a broader view of how your body has been reacting to different elements over time.

Our Testing Process

  • Simple Sample Collection – Depending on your test, we collect either a blood, urine, or hair sample at our clinic.

  • Laboratory Analysis – Your sample is sent to our accredited partner laboratory, ensuring precision and accuracy in the testing process.

  • Detailed Results – You’ll receive a comprehensive report outlining your health status, sensitivities, and imbalances.

  • Personalised Insights – With this information, you can adjust your diet, lifestyle, and wellness routine for optimal health.

By using advanced testing methods and working with highly accredited laboratories, we ensure reliable, thorough, and actionable health insights.

Take control of your well-being today with our professional Health & Sensitivity Testing. Book your test with Sweet Tee’s Wellness & Beauty!

What to expect

At Sweet Tee’s Wellness & Beauty, we strive to provide a seamless and comprehensive experience with our Health & Sensitivity Tests, designed to give you a deeper understanding of your body’s unique responses to various substances. From the moment you book your test, our focus is on offering personalised care that aligns with your specific health concerns.

Your Appointment
Your initial appointment will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. During this time, we will conduct a consultation to understand your reasons for booking the test, any symptoms or concerns, and your overall wellness goals. This step ensures that we tailor the test to address your individual needs effectively.

Sample Collection

  • After the consultation, we will collect your sample, which will depend on the test you have chosen:

  • Blood or Urine Sample – For real-time insights into key health markers such as vitamin levels, hormone balance, and organ function.

  • Hair Sample – A non-invasive method that provides a long-term view of how your body absorbs nutrients and reacts to food sensitivities, metals, and toxins.

  • The sample is then prepared and securely sent to our trusted partner laboratory, which is accredited by Global Health, ensuring accuracy and reliability in testing.

Comprehensive Analysis
Once your sample reaches the laboratory, it undergoes a detailed analysis, depending on your test type:

  • Health Testing – Measures key wellness markers such as iron, vitamin D, hormone levels, and blood sugar balance.

  • Sensitivity Testing – Screens for over 1,200 items, including food intolerances, environmental allergens, heavy metal exposure, and nutritional imbalances.

This advanced testing method helps identify potential imbalances and sensitivities that may be affecting your overall well-being.

Your Results
Your results will typically be available within 3 to 5 days. Once received, we will contact you to arrange a consultation, where we will discuss the findings in detail, explain any areas of concern, and provide guidance on how to optimise your health based on your results.

You will also receive a comprehensive report by post, allowing you to keep a record of your results for future reference.

At Sweet Tee’s Wellness & Beauty, our goal is to provide you with an insightful and stress-free testing experience, giving you the knowledge and tools to take control of your health, vitality, and overall well-being.

Allergic Reaction

Whats the difference?

Sensitivity Testing vs. Allergy Testing

Though both sensitivity testing and allergy testing aim to identify how your body reacts to certain substances, they differ significantly in the types of reactions they detect and how they impact your overall health.

Sensitivity Testing:

  • What it Detects: Sensitivity testing focuses on detecting intolerances or sensitivities, which cause reactions that do not involve the immune system. These responses are often delayed and may affect areas such as digestion, energy levels, or skin.

  • Type of Reaction: Sensitivity reactions are non-immunologic, meaning the immune system is not involved. They occur when the body struggles to properly digest or process certain substances, such as lactose or gluten.

  • Common Symptoms: Sensitivity symptoms tend to be delayed, emerging hours or even days after exposure. Symptoms can include bloating, digestive issues, fatigue, and skin irritations.

  • Examples: Common sensitivities include reactions to dairy, gluten, additives, or environmental triggers like chemicals.

Allergy Testing:

  • What it Detects: Allergy testing identifies immune system reactions to allergens. Allergies occur when the immune system mistakenly perceives harmless substances as threats and reacts by producing antibodies.

  • Type of Reaction: Allergic reactions involve an immune-mediated response, typically involving the release of histamine. These reactions tend to occur quickly after exposure.

  • Common Symptoms: Allergic reactions happen almost immediately and can vary from mild symptoms like sneezing and rashes to severe responses such as difficulty breathing or anaphylaxis.

  • Examples: Typical allergens include pollen, pet dander, nuts, shellfish, and insect stings.

Key Differences:

  • Timing: Sensitivity reactions are delayed, while allergic reactions are usually immediate.

  • Immune System: Allergies involve the immune system; sensitivities do not.

  • Severity: Allergies can lead to life-threatening reactions, whereas sensitivities tend to cause discomfort without being dangerous.

In short, sensitivity testing helps uncover intolerances that may affect everyday well-being, while allergy testing is critical for identifying serious immune responses that may require urgent medical attention. Understanding the distinction can help tailor treatment and lifestyle choices to improve your health.
